Sony is now busy making yet another phone that will challenge the weather, especially the waters. That’s right, Sony is working on water-proof Sony Xperia ZR. And if the rumors are anything to go by, Sony will bring the phone in the market towards the latter part of this year.
The information about the handset in question comes from the Xperia Blog. Accordingly, to the blog, the handset is under development, which in turn means the reports aren’t rumors and it is only a matter of time before the Xperia ZR hits the markets.
As a matter of fact, there aren’t any images made available at the moment. But then does that mean, the news piece is indeed a work of fantasy from the company? Well, one rumor has it that the Sony phone has IP55/58 certification. But apart from that, there do not seem to be anything special about the Xperia ZR.
There is little to choose between the Xperia ZR and the Xperia SP. Dogo, as the Sony Xperia ZR is codenamed, might be launched in September during the IFA in Berlin.
The Xperia ZR is likely to have 4.6” screen with a 720p display as against the 1080p display of the 5” Xperia Z. The Smartphone is said to have been powered by 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro SoC. The internal storage of the Xperia ZR will be 8GB and can be expanded with the help of the MicroSD card. A powerful 2300mAh battery gives excellent backup.
This Sony gadget will have 2GB RAM. A 13MP camera with Exmor RS sensor will certainly give you a great experience working with images or recording videos. The camera easily reminds one of the Xperia Z.
