After Vivo premiered an in-display fingerprint sensor, companies around the world have been vying for the feature to be present in their phones too. Now it seems that the Xiaomi Mi 7 could have the in-display fingerprint sensor on their phone.

The official release of the Mi 7 has already been delayed. But reports are not adding up that this delay is due to the adaptation of this new technology. In a recent MIUI source code batch, this evidence came forward. In a recent Weibo comment, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 7 would be having the in-display fingerprint sensor.

Though the conversation was very lite and the following comments seemed to brush off the confirmation. And this can be a hint. This exchange of comments occurred in the comment section of a post that contained official Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.

Though this can be just a light-hearted comment, this evidence was enough for users to anticipate a Xiaomi Mi 7 in-display fingerprint scanner.

Apart from this rumour, the Xiaomi Mi 7 is also rumoured to sport a notched display, which is something many Android phones are replicating these days. The Mi 7 is also likely to come with a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 8GB RAM. The Xiaomi Mi 7 will start at a price of $475. This is equivalent to Rs. 31,739 as per the current exchange rate.
