Xiaomi Mi 8 will come with an under-display fingerprint sensor, very much like the Vivo X series has. It’ll be a strong contender in this price bracket to grab the eyeballs.
Xiaomi Mi 8 with Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor
Xiaomi Mi 8 – it will be the next phone in the Mi series. And it has been almost confirmed. However, what more interesting feature comes out is the under-display fingerprint sensor. Yes, it is very likely that the Mi 8 will follow the same principle as that of the Vivo X21, which also had the UD fingerprint reader sensor.
The news regarding this possibility had surfaced last month when the Xiaomi Mi 8 was addressed as the Xiaomi Mi 7. And now, this hands-on video virtually confirms things. It is only a 4-second video but speaks out volumes.
If the reports of the under-display fingerprint reader come true, this will make the Mi 8 the first device from the Chinese company to introduce this feature. Moreover, like the iPhone X, it’s also rumored to rope in the 3D facial recognition feature.
As far as the possible features of the Mi 8 are concerned, it’s likely that it’ll carry two of the high-end features. There aren’t still many features and specs out, but if reports are anything to go by, we should see a powerful 8GB of RAM and the best in its class Snapdragon 845 chip based on Octa-Core processing.
Like most Xiaomi devices, this one too will don the 64GB built-in storage. Apart from there will be a 4000mAh battery for powering the cells. And as it should be, the new upcoming Xiaomi Mi 8 will come with the wireless charging technology too.
As far as the in-display fingerprint sensor is concerned, it follows the steps taken by the Vivo X21. It not only had a this UD feature, but it also comes with a notch and a cool 6.28-inch screen.
