Xiaomi Redmi 3S India launch took place today. Along with this, the company also unveiled the Redmi 3S Prime. These phones are ‘Made in India’.

As it was expected for a few days now, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S India launch finally took place today. The Chinese company announced another device in its company, the Redmi 3S Prime edition. According to Xiaomi, both devices are ‘Made in India’.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3S price in India is Rs. 6,999. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime price in India is Rs. 8,999. In short, both devices fall in the budget segment. So, this should be a good deal for the Xiaomi fans. These devices are available via Flipkart and Mi.com. As far as the sales are concerned, Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime is scheduled to start selling from August 9. However, the Redmi 3S will be available starting after a week’s time.
Nominal Differences in Specifications
Both Xiaomi Redmi 3S India launch and the Prime are pretty much similar with the differences being in the native storage and RAM. The 3S has done away with fingerprint sensor as well, which will be there on the 3S Prime. There’s 2GB RAM and 16GB of native storage in Redmi 3S. However, the Prime model is heavier on both sides with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM. There’s expandable memory choice of up to 128GB with the help of microSD card in both phones.
As far as the availability is concerned, the Redmi 3S has been already available on Chinese market. As for the Xiaomi Redmi 3S India launch goes, it’s the first market overseas.
Specs at a Glance
Both Redmi devices come with 1.1GHz octa-core Qualcomm SD430 processor. It functions in the company of Adreno 505 GPU. According to Xiaomi, these smartphones will be first of its kind to have the SD430. Apart from this, there will be dual-SIM options in both phones, which are Micro and Nano. There are hybrid SIM slots as well. The Redmi 3S Prime will sport a fingerprint reader.
As per the Xiaomi Redmi 3S India launch, there will be 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. The devices run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 7.5 on top. For the cameras, there will be 13MP main and 5MP secondary camera. The primary camera has PDAF, autofocus, HDR mode and f/2.0 aperture. You can carry out 1080p video recording on both lenses. Both Redmi 3S and 3S Prime will be backed by 4,100mAh battery.
